OUR STORY
Sōl City Yoga was founded in 2017 by Tiraya Conyers with a simple vision: to make yoga & meditation accessible to everyone in the most creative and culturally relevant ways possible —from the rooftops and art galleries of New York City to elementary schools, corporate boardrooms, and everywhere in between. What started as intimate yoga sessions under the open sky has grown into a comprehensive wellness practice serving youth and professionals across New York City and beyond. We've brought our curated experiences to elementary schools in the Bronx, middle schools in Queens, high schools in Manhattan, college campuses, Fortune 500 law firms, healthcare organizations, and community centers—meeting people exactly where they are, both on-site and virtually.
But our heart has stayed the same: We believe wellness isn't a luxury—it's a necessity. And it should feel good, be accessible, and actually work.

MEET TIRAYA
Tiraya Conyers is the founder and lead instructor of Sōl City Yoga, bringing a unique combination of lived experience, professional expertise, and radiant presence to every session.
Her Journey: Born and raised in the Bronx, Tiraya understands firsthand the impact of stress on underserved communities. After earning her BA in Psychology from SUNY Oswego (where she was also a Division III track and field athlete), she spent seven years in corporate America—including roles in legal recruiting at Davis Polk and designing Global Health & Well-being programs at Latham & Watkins, two of the world's top law firms. In early 2025, after experiencing burnout severe enough to require medical leave, Tiraya made a life-changing decision: to leave Big Law and dedicate herself full-time to the trauma-informed wellness practices that had healed her own nervous system.

8 years teaching yoga across NYC schools and corporate settings
NASM Personal Training Certification
Ongoing study in nervous system regulation, somatic practices, and evidence-based wellness
Her Why: As a mother to a 4-year-old son, Tiraya is passionate about creating a world where wellness is accessible to everyone—especially the communities and professions that need it most. She bridges two worlds many wellness providers never touch: the underserved youth in neighborhoods like the one she grew up in, and the high-achieving professionals in industries she worked alongside for nearly a decade.
